IoT for Footfall

Now more than ever, venue owners and local authorities need to carefully manage the volume of visitors to their locations. Of course, there has always been a need to know how many people visit entertainment and hospitality venues, transport hubs, high streets and beaches, but the pressure to manage this has increased with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Understanding how many people are visiting these locations helps managing organisations track trends for future development planning and ensure safe levels of visitors in real-time. This solution provides organisations with the insight to manage economic growth plans to help their communities and businesses thrive, whilst ensuring safe, compliant venues for all visitors.

How It Works

Using strategically positioned solar powered sensors, we can detect the number of individuals entering and exiting any given zone. On a high street, for example, sensors will be located at all major intersections. Data is transmitted via LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) to our central data hub and the information is collated to provide a full range of insights in real-time and historically. The bespoke reporting system can then raise alerts should certain tolerances be breached or provide the data for export, allowing analysis, reporting and future planning.
