IoT Solutions Group is pleased to announce that company founder and CEO, Emma Mahy, has been shortlisted for the Women in Housing Awards 2026 in the Innovator of the Year category. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 22 June 2026 at Manchester Central, alongside Housing 2026.

Emma founded IoT Solutions Group with an unconventional background for a technology leader: she trained as a nurse. That clinical experience shapes her approach to innovation, she starts with the human outcome, the health, safety and dignity of residents, and works back to the operational and data changes that make those outcomes more reliable at scale.

That perspective has directly influenced the development of IoTSG's COSIE homes platform. Landlords asked for technology that is simple to deploy, privacy-first by design, and built to drive action rather than generate more data to manage. COSIE homes reflects all three.

The real test of innovation is whether it changes outcomes. When a council using COSIE, received an alert from COSIE homes flagging a home at 13°C, it prompted intervention for a family, two adults and three young children, who were cold but had no flags against them. The landlord intervened, understood they faced heating poverty, provided financial support, and helped them heat their home. That is what the technology is for.

Emma Mahy, commented:

"For me innovation needs to drive positive change and improve people's lives and health, in a way that can be sustained and scaled. I am immensely proud to be shortlisted in for these awards."
