West Kent Housing Association (WKHA) has expanded its use of the COSIE risk platform, from IoTSG, to support healthier homes, safer tenants, and stronger compliance assurance. They have invested in COSIE Homes, for damp and mould risk intelligence, as well as Legionella Monitoring for water safety.
WKHA adopted COSIE Homes to move beyond reliance on resident reporting, periodic surveys and inspection “snapshots,” enabling continuous, dwelling-level visibility of indoor conditions and earlier identification of rising damp and mould risk. This supports faster triage, more proactive resident follow-up, and fewer repeat visits.
“The previous measures in place were not working and repeat visits were needed. Now with Cosie Homes we have accurate dwelling level data. This means we can be proactive, the alerts are used by D&M team to take the appropriate action. So far the insights from Cosie Homes have given us confidence that the ventilation equipment we have installed is effective when it's used by the residents.” Stated Kerry Elliman, Head of Strategic Asset Management at West Kent Housing Association.
Alongside this, WKHA is using Legionella Monitoring for water safety for their residents. Through Warm Homes Grant Funding WKHA’s strategy is to ensure they never put a resident in a worse position, and this monitoring (for Damp and Mould, and Legionella) will help them monitor and ensure delivery against that promise.
